There are often questions that asked about our service and how to get access we have listed answers to these frequent asked questions below.

How long does it take to get registered with OFSTED

Registering and operating a children’s home is a substantial responsibility that should not be taken lightly. Success in your application is more likely if you are well-prepared and fully comprehend the commitment involved.

The current average duration from application acceptance to home registration is 17 weeks. Applications that are later withdrawn typically take an additional six weeks to complete. However, these timeframes are averages, and some providers may face delays in the process, while others may have a quicker journey to the final decision.

If a children’s home that is registered with Ofsted provides healthcare services to children and that healthcare is a regulated activity as set out in Schedule 1 to the 2014 Regulations, the provider will also need to register with CQC. They must provide the healthcare to a level that meets the requirements of the fundamental standards of quality and safety.

A small number of providers will therefore need to register with Ofsted as a children’s home and with CQC for the health care services that they provide under the HSCA 2008.

Regulated activities offered by children’s homes that are likely to require registration with CQC include:

  • accommodation for persons who require treatment for substance misuse
  • surgical procedures
  • treatment of disease, disorder or injury
  • diagnostic and screening procedures
  • nursing care

Regrettably, we are unable to process the SC1 or SC2 forms as they require completion by the authorized personnel within the organization. Nevertheless, we provide a service that assists in equipping senior staff members with the necessary skills and knowledge to confidently complete the online application. This service also encompasses preparation for OFSTED inspection and relevant training.

Our consultancy service is customized and designed to meet the specific needs of each company. We provide assistance in various areas, including advising on the establishment of a care home to transitioning from CQC to OSTED registration. Our consultants begin the process by conducting a thorough fact-finding session to understand your business requirements and identify areas where we can enhance processes and provide valuable support.

Currently, we provide coverage throughout England, and we plan to expand our services to cover the entire UK within the next two years. Our team of experts is well-versed in each region of England, guaranteeing that you receive top-notch local advice and have the option of meeting with our experts in person if desired
